Jess hails from a really small town in Alaska called Chugiak, halfway between Anchorage (a city most people know) and Wasilla (a town most people try to forget). She graduated Chugiak High school where she was a vaguely emo kid with a passion for theater, which she realizes is redundant. A few years later, she graduated with a degree in aeronautics from the University of Alaska Anchorage.  

Since moving to New York, Jess has been lucky enough to receive incredible training. She first studied with the incomparable Ann Ratray of LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts at her referral-only studio. After two years with Ann, Jess sought out an on-camera class and studied for 3 years with Matt Newton of MN Acting studio. She now studies with Bob Krakower of The Julliard School and Yale School of Drama. Jess has also studied with HB Studio, and University of Alaska Theatre and Dance.

Since she began acting professionally, Jess has been lucky enough to portray characters in films that have gone on to win at festivals all over the country, and also cast in television projects showcasing her complicated, androgynous self. 

She now lives in Brooklyn with her partner and their cats.
