Jess hails from a really small town in Alaska called Chugiak, halfway between Anchorage (a city most people know) and Wasilla (a town most people try to forget). She graduated Chugiak High school where she was a vaguely emo kid with a passion for theater and choir, which she realizes is redundant.
Since moving to New York, Jess has been lucky enough to receive amazing training. She first studied with the incomparable Ann Ratray at her referral-only studio on Manhattan's Upper West Side. After two years with Ann, Jess sought out an on-camera class and has studied with her now-mentor, Matt Newton of MN Acting studio working as a studio assistant to cover the cost of tuition. Jess has also studied with HB Studio, and University of Alaska Theatre and Dance.
Since she began acting professionally, Jess has been lucky enough to portray characters in films that have gone on to win at festivals all over the country, and also cast in television projects showcasing her edgy androgynous self.
Thanks for stopping by.
Winter is coming.
